After airstrikes, a high-level security alert across capital

New Delhi: A high-level security alert has been issued across the national capital following Operation Sindoor. Delhi Police has significantly stepped up security arrangements at key locations to ensure public safety.Prominent security deployments were seen at India Gate, where para commandos in light strike vehicles were deployed for area domination and rapid response readiness. Patrolling was also intensified around frequently visited monuments.Increased police deployment and surveillance were also observed at major commercial hubs and crowded public areas. At prominent markets, bomb disposal squads conducted thorough checks. “Search and frisking of individuals entering the markets have been intensified,” a senior police official stated.Special teams were formed to conduct checks at guest houses, budget hotels, second-hand car dealerships, and other potential soft targets. Police carried out verification drives, and briefed owners and staff about the importance of reporting any suspicious individuals or unusual activities. “We have asked landlords and hotel owners to ensure proper verification of tenants and guests,” the officer added.

Delhi Police has also strengthened coordination with intelligence agencies and is closely monitoring sensitive zones through CCTVs and mobile patrols. Security checkpoints have been set up and patrolling has been increased. Police are maintaining a strict vigil on social media to prevent the spread of misinformation. “Police have increased deployment in the border areas and are conducting vehicle checks before allowing entry into the city,” an officer said.
