Aprilia’s Most Affordable Naked Sports Bike Lands In India

Aprilia, the iconic Italian premium motorcycle brand, is aiming to further extend its market share in India with the price announcement of its much-awaited Tuono 457. For the uninitiated, the new Tuono 457 is the naked version of the previously introduced RS 457 sports bike and it represents the most accessible motorcycle from the Italian brand in the Indian market, priced at Rs 3.95 Lakh (ex-showroom). It undercuts the fully-faired model by Rs 25,000 and aims to rival the likes of KTM 390 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 310.

The design of the Tuono 457 diverges notably from the Tuono 660 and Tuono V4 models sold internationally. The new Aprilia features a centrally positioned LED headlight flanked by LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). Adhering to the Tuono design philosophy, the 457 eschews large fairings or panels. The Tuono 457 is available in two color options: Piranha Red and Puma Grey.

In terms of mechanicals, the Tuono 457 utilizes the same 457cc parallel-twin engine found in the RS 457, producing 46.9bhp and 43.5Nm, and paired with a six-speed gearbox. Like the RS, the Tuono 457 offers a quickshifter as an optional extra. Standard features include all-LED lighting, traction control, ride modes, switchable ABS, and a color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.

The motorcycle is equipped with preload-adjustable upside-down forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear, supported by dual-channel ABS. These components are mounted on 17-inch wheels.
