BMW 450 R, F 450 RR expected to debut at EICMA 2026

The BMW F 450 GS launch is right upon us, but while that will take place on 23 April, the company is also occupied with developing more motorcycles on the platform. Word is that BMW is working on the F 450 R street naked and the F 450 RR supersport motorcycle. These bikes are expected to debut at the EICMA 2026 in November, at least in concept form, if not in a near-production guise.

The 450cc platform is what BMW is said to be betting big on, especially after the discontinuation of the G 310 R and the G 310 GS in India. Those bikes were responsible for bringing in the volumes, especially after the price correction. The new F 450 GS, while expected to sport a starting price of Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh, will serve as a stepping stone for those looking to buy a BMW.

The F 450 R,will be the street naked version, powered by the same 420cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing 48bhp and 43Nm as seen in the GS. BMW may alter the gearing and tuning to suit the street naked character of the bike. This bike is expected to sit below the F 450 GS in the pricing pyramid.

The F 450 RR, essentially, will be the full-faired, clip-on handlebar-equipped version of the street naked, with sportier ergonomics as well. The styling and the colour options on offer are expected to make it an attractive-looking proposition in the supersport market as it takes on the Aprilia RS 457 and the Kawasaki Ninja 500.
