BMW F 450 GS Launched in India; Prices Start from Rs. 4.70 Lakh

The BMW F 450 GS has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 4.70 lakh for the base variant. The bike is available in a total of three variants with Exclusive and the range-topping GS Trophy trims pegged at Rs. 4.90 lakh and Rs. 5.30 lakh, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom).

The F 450 GS is the new entry-point in the BMW’s expansive ‘GS’ world as it replaces the G 310 GS in India. The bike is manufactured by TVS here in India.

The highlights of the bike include a new 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Under the sharply styled bodywork, is a steel trellis frame that is suspended by a USD fork and a monoshock. The bike rides on a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel setup. While the first three variants get alloy wheels, the ‘Trophy’ gets tubeless wire-spoke wheels.

In terms of features, there’s all-LED lighting, ride modes, and more. The Basic variant gets three ride modes — Rain, Road, and Enduro while the other trims get an Enduro Pro mode as well.

The bi-directional quickshifter is available as an option in the Basic trim while it is part of standard equipment on all variants above the Basic. The top-spec GS Trophy variant gets adjustable suspension and the Easy Ride Clutch system.

Rider aids include cornering traction control, ABS, and Dynamic Brake Control.

All the settings and information are accessible on menus displayed on a crisp 6.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
