BMW F 450 GS: Variants Explained

BMW Motorrad finally launched the much-awaited F 450 GS in India with a starting price of Rs. 4.70 lakh, ex-showroom. It is available in three variants with varying prices and equipment on offer. In case you’re wondering how these variants exactly differ, here’s a breakdown.

Base: Rs. 4.70 lakh

Despite being the entry-level variant, the F 450 GS Base is a handsomely equipped motorcycle. It gets a large 6.5-inch TFT screen with BMW’s signature rotary controller for navigating through options on the screen. What’s truly unusual for this is class is the presence of heated grips. Other available features that are a norm in this segment are ABS, traction control, and adjustable brake and clutch levers. What you also get is engine drag torque control and a height-adjustable rear brake lever. The Base trim is only available in the Cosmic Black shade.

Exclusive: Rs. 4.90 lakh

While offering all of the aforementioned elements from the Base trim, what the Exclusive variant gets extra are engine guard, knuckle guards, and a fairly tall clear windscreen. The presence of Riding Modes Pro and Shift Assistant Pro also distinguish the Exclusive trim from the Base. Moreover, this variant is also more trail-friendly with the inclusion of off-road pegs. The colour option it is available is the same as the Base model.

GS Trophy: Rs. 5.30 lakh

This is the top-spec trim incorporating adjustable Sport suspension, Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), aluminium engine guard, and tinted rally windscreen, all of which come as standard. Moreover, these things can be put on the other two variants for an additional cost. The Trophy variant also gets everything from the Exclusive trim. What makes it stand out visually is the white chassis, white knuckle guards, and the BMW’s signature tricolour paint scheme.
