BMW M 1000 RR / S 1000 RR Get M2-themed Editions

• South Africa gets exclusive M2 Edition models
• Cosmetics only; technically identical to the standard bikes

BMW Motorrad South Africa has showcased the S 1000 RR M2 Edition and M 1000 RR M2 Edition as special local editions developed in collaboration with BMW South Africa. Both the bikes are only for South Africa offering sharper visual identity through exclusive paint and detail changes.

BMW says both are available immediately in South Africa. Hey, why aren’t we getting these special editions designed for our market! These are limited-run, orderable motorcycles aimed at buyers who want something more exclusive than the standard RR range.

Visually, both editions follow the same basic formula. They are finished in Black Storm Metallic with red accents and both get bright red RR logos on the front side fairings. They also come with Akrapovic exhaust systems, duhh. BMW has kept the changes focused enough to feel special.

The S 1000 RR M2 Edition features red accents on the front fairing and passenger seat cover, a tinted windscreen, an M-embossed seat and red-accented Design Option Wheels. M 1000 RR M2 Edition uses Black Storm Metallic paint with red detailing on the M carbon wheel rims, fuel tank and front fairings. The front M winglets carry the RR insignia in red. BMW also highlights M carbon wheels, M billet parts, M footrests and the Akrapovic exhaust.
