BSA Scrambler 650 Launched in India at Rs. 3.24 Lakh

BSA has launched the Scrambler 650 in India giving its modern-classic a more rugged and more versatile sibling to the Gold Star. The pricing has been spread across three colour variants. Raven Black is priced at Rs. 3,24,950, Victor Yellow costs Rs. 3,32,950 and Thunder Grey is the top shade at Rs. 3,40,950 (all mentioned prices ex-showroom).

Powering this scrambler is a 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC, four-valve engine with twin spark plugs. It develops 44.5bhp and 55Nm at 4,000rpm. This is a torque-led big single meant to deliver its best in the low and middle part of the rev range. BSA says this character is suited to urban riding, broken roads and short trail sections better than a peaky engine would.

Key dimensions to be noted are its 820mm seat height, 1,465mm wheelbase and 187mm ground clearance. Figures suggest its aimed at balancing confidence at low speeds with enough stability for faster road use. The Scrambler 650 gets 41mm telescopic forks at the front and twin rear shock absorbers along with wire-spoke wheels wearing 110/80 R19 front and 150/70 R17 rear tyres. Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc with Brembo twin-piston floating calliper and ABS, plus a 255mm rear disc with Brembo single-piston floating calliper and ABS. You also get traction control to deal with changing surfaces.

The motorcycle gets the expected scrambler touches such as a rally beak, upswept exhaust, semi-knobby tyres, handlebar cross tube, LED headlamp and a digital instrument cluster. Overall look stays rooted in BSA’s older scrambler influences. Accessory list has an engine guard, saddle bag stays, rear top rack, bar-end mirrors, brace pad and headlight grille.

Scrambler 650 is being backed by Classic Legends’ Ownership Assurance Programme including a 4-year/50,000km standard warranty, extendable warranty up to 6 years, roadside assistance for up to 8 years and AMC coverage for up to 5 years across 400-plus sales and service touchpoints.
