‘Bullet Raja’ Royal Enfield leaves Audi, Ferrari behind in global race, becomes world’s 3rd strongest auto brand

In a big booster to India’s auto industry, has been ranked the world’s third-strongest automotive brand in the Brand Finance Automotive Industry 2026 report. The Indian motorcycle company has moved ahead of global names such as Audi and Ferrari. Only Toyota and are placed above it in the list. The report gives Royal Enfield a Brand Strength Index score of 88.9 out of 100 and an AAA rating. Its brand value has also increased by 30 per cent to 1.2 billion dollars. The report also includes at fifth place among global automotive brands. is ranked 34th, while Mahindra is placed at 25th position.

Toyota and BMW continue at the top

Toyota holds the first position in the ranking, followed by BMW. Royal Enfield is third. Audi is fourth, while Ferrari is seventh. The report reflects how brand strength and global presence are shaping competition in the auto industry.

Royal Enfield’s position in the ranking has improved with its growing presence outside India. The company operates in more than 80 countries and has over 3,200 retail outlets worldwide. It also runs seven CKD assembly plants across international markets.

The brand continues to see demand in Europe, South America, Southeast Asia and Australia. It has kept its focus on basic, retro-style motorcycles, which remain its core identity.

Royal Enfield product lineup

Royal Enfield has built a strong position in the mid-size motorcycle category, especially in bikes above 250cc. Over the past few years, the company has focused on expanding this segment with new launches aimed at both city riders and touring enthusiasts. Motorcycles such as the Hunter 350 and Super Meteor 650 continue to perform well in different markets. The Himalayan 450 has helped the company expand into the adventure motorcycle segment and reach new riders.

Royal Enfield is one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the world that is still in production. The company traces its roots back to 1901. While the brand began in the UK, it later became closely associated with India after production shifted here.

Once known mainly for its retro-styled motorcycles in India, Royal Enfield has steadily transformed itself into a global premium motorcycle brand over the past few years.
