Summary 

In February 2022, launched the facelift in India with a slew of variants across three distinctive powertrain options. It also comes with a choice of new dual-tone exterior paints.

Exterior 

The overall design of the Wagon R facelift largely remains similar to its predecessor. However, Maruti Suzuki now offers hill hold control in the hatchback. Besides this, it gets rear parking sensors, an anti-lock braking system, an electronic brakeforce distribution system, and dual airbags. Moreover, the range-topping ZXi and ZXi+ come with dual-tone colour options: Gallant Red with black and Magma Grey with black.

Interior 

The cabin of the new Wagon R carries the same dual-tone interior scheme as the previous model. Other features include a seven-inch touchscreen with SmartPlay Studio, an analogue instrument cluster, a multifunctional steering wheel, and air conditioning.

Engine and transmission 

The Wagon R comes powered by two different petrol engines — a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol motor that makes 66bhp and 89Nm, and a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, DualJet, Dual VVT petrol unit producing 89bhp and 113Nm with idle start/stop technology. On the other hand, the 1.0-litre engine in the CNG mode generates 56bhp and 82Nm. Both the petrol-only engines can be mated to either a manual or automatic transmission.
