Kawasaki India has officially released its new flagship sports tourer, the Versys 1000, in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the motorcycle will be offered in a single color option. Interested customers can now place orders at all authorized Kawasaki dealerships, with deliveries expected to commence shortly.
Notably, this price point represents a reduction of over Rs 1 lakh compared to the discontinued Versys 1000, which retailed at Rs 13.91 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing strategy suggests a strong intent from Kawasaki India to establish a significant market presence for the Versys 1000.

Aesthetically, the Versys 1000 maintains a similar appearance to its predecessor. However, functional upgrades include a larger front disc brake and the addition of a USB Type-C charging port.
The Versys 1000 features an enhanced engine, achieved through an increased stroke length. Further engine refinements include a higher compression ratio, a heavier flywheel, extended intake funnels within the airbox, narrower intake ports, and redesigned camshafts with reduced valve lift. These modifications have resulted in a power increase from 118bhp to 133bhp, and a torque increase to 112.5Nm. Adjustments have also been implemented in the gear ratios.
