KTM 1390 Super Duke R Range Gets Optional New WP APEX PRO Upgrade

WP Suspension latest APEX PRO platform is not just for the 2026 KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track, the system will also be available as an aftermarket option for the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR and KTM 1390 Super Duke R. So yes, owners of the road-going bikes too have access to the more focused suspension setup without having to move up to the limited-run track-only model. The latest WP APEX PRO fork uses the same Closed Cartridge concept as the brand’s race-side equipment. This setup has been engineered to improve rider feedback under heavy use helping the rider brake later and carry more secure corner speeds. On a motorcycle like the 1390 Super Duke R or RR which are already extremely fast with enough power and chassis stiffness, fast corners expose suspension weaknesses quickly once the pace rises. A more advanced cartridge system is therefore can meaningfully change how much of the bike’s performance a rider can actually use.

Then there is the introduction of Tecterra inner tube coating in the fork. WP says this surface treatment is roughly twice as hard as conventional chrome coatings improving resistance to dust, sand and other abrasive materials. That should help both wear resistance and damping consistency over time, especially during repeated hard track use.

The matching APEX PRO shock at the rear has been developed to deliver better drive out of corners and more rear-end stability under braking. There is also provision for a potentiometer mount which opens the door to telemetry-based suspension tuning. WP says the system offers high- and low-speed compression damping, rebound adjustment, hydraulic spring preload and length adjustment, along with different spring-rate options and quick spring changes. That gives riders a wide setup window allowing owners of the 1390 Super Duke RR and R to move their bike closer to the feel of a track-biased machine.
