KTM 390 Duke: Three Colours keep it Fresh

  • Atlantic Blue adds modern look
  • Electronic Orange stays close to KTM’s orangy identity
  • Gun Metal Grey has subtle appeal

KTM has priced the new 350cc-engined 390 Duke at a lower entry price as the benefit of the 18 percent GST bracket has been passed on to customers. The 40.5bhp and 33.5Nm motorcycle retains the 390 Duke’s familiar chassis, technology and riding layout. But the real visual talking point for buyers now becomes the colour range. The new 390 Duke is offered in Gun Metal Grey, Electronic Orange and Atlantic Blue.

Atlantic Blue looks like the most contemporary option considering how bold the Dukes have always been. It almost softens the usual sharp-edged aggression of this naked. This colour may appeal to those who want the performance image of the 390 Duke but do not want the motorcycle to look overly loud. It feels premium and sporty making it the most balanced colour in the range.

Electronic Orange stays closest to KTM’s long-standing visual identity. Riders who grew up associating KTM with sharp bodywork, bright paint and an unmistakable road presence are likely to see this as the most authentic choice. Electronic Orange could still be the default pick for younger buyers suiting the Duke’s aggressive proportions and keeps the bike instantly recognisable as a KTM.

The Gun Metal Grey holds understatement on its side. Grey usually works well on performance motorcycles because it gives the machine a more mature and mechanical feel. On the 390 Duke, it is likely to underline the new bike’s hardware, tank detailing and exposed chassis without drawing too much attention to the paint itself. It has the benefit of looking serious.
