LS2 Torrent Boots from the Helmet Manufacturer

LS2 Torrent motorcycle boots have just been introduced in the UK market. Designed for men, the new footwear is positioned for riders who need weather protection and reasonable walking comfort. The Torrent also shows how LS2 is steadily developing into a wider riding-gear company rather than remaining focused only on helmets. With its growing apparel business in India, these boots may soon reach our shores.

Torrent has a mid-cut shape that covers the ankle but remains compact enough for routine use. It is described as suitable across winter, autumn, spring and summer. It’ll come in three colour combinations and European sizes 39 to 47. Outer construction combines 3D polyester mesh with thermoplastic polyurethane TPU. The mesh is intended to allow air movement around the foot, while the TPU sections add structure and resistance in areas exposed to wear.

LS2 claims a waterproof rating of 10,000mm H2O and a breathability figure of 6,000g per square metre over 24 hours. Protection includes an integrated IPA ankle protector. The toe and rear heel sections are also reinforced to provide added impact resistance and improve durability.

Torrent uses a dual-density outsole intended to provide both grip and support. It will remain stable on a footpeg and should also allow the rider to walk normally after parking. An ergonomic, sweat-absorbing inner sole is included to improve comfort during extended use. LS2 has also added a pull tab at the back, making it easier to guide the foot into the boot.

Torrent receives a quick-release lacing arrangement allowing the rider to tighten the boot and secure the fit more quickly. This will also reduce the possibility of loose lace ends reaching the gear lever, footpeg or other moving parts. Reflective strips are positioned around the heel and sides to make the rider’s feet more visible in poor light.
