Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Spied: Toyota Hilux Rival Coming?

The Scorpio Classic has a pickup truck derivative called the Scorpio Getaway. Mahindra pitched it as a lifestyle vehicle, but sales never increased as hoped. Mahindra is giving yet another try at a lifestyle pickup truck for India. This time, it might be based on the modern Scorpio N.

A Scorpio N-based pickup truck test unit has been spotted testing in Manali. In the video, the camouflaged test mule has a front end identical to the Scorpio N, but from the driver’s door onwards, you see a pickup bed. The vehicle has a single-cab layout and an extended truck bed.

This hints that the vehicle could be a commercial unit. Lifestyle pickups in India, such as the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D-Max, feature a double-cab layout and a smaller truck bed. Mahindra could be working on a premium alternative to the Bolero pickup it currently sells.
