Mercedes AMG GT XX Revealed: All-Electric Beast With 1360 hp and 850 kW Fast Charging

Mercedes-AMG has taken the wraps off the GT XX, its first fully electric concept car. This new four-door machine blends mind-boggling performance with EV tech, and it’s a clear sign that AMG is charging full speed into the electric era. At the heart of the GT XX is a trio of axial flux motors—two at the rear and one at the front—developed in collaboration with UK-based motor specialist YASA.

These compact but powerful motors combine to deliver 1,360 hp, pushing the GT XX to speeds beyond 360 kph. The design not only prioritises raw speed but also ensures sustained performance, thanks to improved energy density and cooling efficiency. Backing all that power is a 114kWh battery pack running on an 800V+ architecture. What really sets it apart, though, is its 850kW DC fast-charging capability. That means the car can recharge enough juice for 400km of range in just five minutes.

Visually, the GT XX nods to Mercedes’ iconic C111 with its fastback profile and signature Panamericana grille. But it’s not all retro—the luminescent “MBUX Fluid Light Paint” along the body cleverly displays charging status, blending tech and style in a uniquely Mercedes way.
