MotoGP 2026: Gresini Ducati’s Alex Marquez Wins the Spanish Grand Prix

Alex Marquez delivered a commanding performance to secure victory in the 2026 MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix that was held in Jerez.

Amazing Alex!

As the lights went out, pole-sitter Marc Marquez stormed into the lead, followed by Marco Bezzecchi on the factory Aprilia and Alex Marquez on the Gresini Racing Ducati. Alex then made light work of passing Bezzecchi in the stadium section, much to the delight of the fans. On the following lap, he also managed to storm past his brother Marc Marquez, and went on to set a strong pace. Marc then lost the front in the last sector at a very high speed, and crashed, which gave Alex some much-needed breathing room between himself and Bezzecchi. As the race continued, Alex was untouchable as he formed an impressive gap of over two seconds over Bezzecchi. The Spaniard crossed the line to seal a dominant win, giving the fans reason to cheer after watching the elder Marquez crash out of the race.

End of Marco’s Streak

The victory also ended Bezzecchi’s recent winning streak and handed Ducati its first Grand Prix win of the 2026 season. Meanwhile, factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia retired from the race due to technical issues, compounding a difficult outing for the team. The next race will be held from 8-10 May at Le Mans in France.
