New Vande Bharat Trains Might Come In A Fresh Orange-Grey Colour Code – Colourful Revolution?

Vande Bharat to Indians is more than just a means of transportation; it symbolises Indian engineering prowess and technological advancement. The semi-high-speed train has become a milestone in India’s journey to becoming a global superpower.

Inside the train, you’ll be greeted by spacious and plush seating arrangements designed to ensure a comfortable journey for passengers of all age groups. The train has large windows that provide a panoramic view of the picturesque landscapes of our country.

The train has a top speed of 180km/h and covers distances faster than conventional trains, significantly reducing travel time. The train has modern amenities, including infotainment screens and environmentally friendly bio-toilets, making the journey a delightful experience for passengers.

With the recent developments, it was reported that the Indian Railways are considering a fresh new look for the train. The Railways might replace the traditional white and blue colour with a vibrant orange-grey colour scheme.

Several experiments are being done at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) with different colour combinations for the upcoming Vande Bharat Express trains. It is said that among the various colour schemes tested, the orange and grey combination stood apart, creating an appealing appearance for the train sets.

The colour combo was tried on the coaches to see how it looked. However, a final decision is yet to be made on the colour scheme and combinations. ” Orange may be painted on both sides while grey will be for the doors or vice versa.” – said an official.

Currently, twenty-six Vande Bharat trains are running across the country. The new colour pattern is expected to be implemented in upcoming rakes once it receives approval from the railway ministry.

This change is part of a broader effort to establish a standardised livery for all Vande Bharat trains, as Vande Bharat will be the preferred choice for train travel in the future. However, Railways did not specify any reason for the sudden plan to change the train’s livery.

The factory has been improvising based on feedback from the zonal railways. Seat designs have been standardised, and the coaches will feature “Indian Railways” instead of zonal abbreviations. There are also plans to have a cattle catcher in the front.

Even though the white and blue colour looks pleasing, the Railway finds it difficult to maintain as it becomes dusty easily. The maintenance depots in zonal railways find it difficult to keep them clean after every other trip.

The possible colour change will definitely lead to discussions and debates among people. It will be interesting to see how this change will be received and how it adds to the overall aesthetics of the Vande Bharat trains.
