VinFast has taken its initial step toward entering the Indian two-wheeler market by signing letters of intent (LOIs) and partnering with a network of electric two-wheeler dealers. Having entered India in 2025 with activities covering electric car distribution, manufacturing, and assembly, the brand previously displayed e-scooters at the Auto Expo and patented their designs domestically. These recent dealer partnerships signify a fresh phase in the company's local market expansion strategy.
Retail Network and Dealership Expansion
VinFast and its collaborative dealer partners will work toward setting up more than 50 electric two-wheeler showrooms spread across 34 cities in 15 states and territories. The target locations for establishing an initial presence encompass Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Odisha. Although the firm has not communicated specific timelines for the introduction, it intends to bring its electric scooter range to the country through these alliances.

These chosen cities and regions encompass substantial two-wheeler markets, offering considerable scope for brand growth. VinFast noted that during the 2025-2026 fiscal year, there were 21.41 million two-wheelers registered, with electric vehicles representing merely 6.54 percent of that total.
Expected Product Lineup
While official launch timelines remain unannounced, the company's initial product offering is anticipated to feature the Viper and Rasad electric scooters. This expectation follows the design patents for these models that were filed in India earlier in the year.
Market Context and Competition
Upon officially releasing its models in the country, VinFast will face intense competition from established legacy manufacturers as well as disruptive start-ups. Rivals in the segment include Bajaj, TVS, Hero, Suzuki, Yamaha, Ather, and River.
