The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has yet again proved that they are the definition of transformation and progress in infrastructure development. With a mission to provide efficient and well-connected road networks, NHAI has become a driving force behind India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
Through their relentless efforts, strategic planning, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, NHAI has revolutionised how we experience transportation in the country. Today, NHAI has added another impressive achievement to its already impressive portfolio by constructing a 100km expressway within a record-breaking 100 hour time mark.
This extraordinary record was set while constructing the Ghaziabad-Aligarh expressway in Uttar Pradesh, part of NH34. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari took to Twitter and shared this proud moment with pictures of the under-construction highway.
“This accomplishment highlights the dedication and ingenuity of India’s road infrastructure industry. I extend my congratulations to the exceptional teams of Cube Highways, L&T, and Ghaziabad Aligarh Expressway Pvt Ltd (GAEPL) for their outstanding achievement.” Gadkari said in his tweet.
He virtually participated in the celebration and emphasised the crucial role of the 118 kilometre Ghaziabad-Aligarh section of NH34 as it is a vital transportation link between the densely populated regions of Ghaziabad and Aligarh.
The construction of this highway is undertaken under the partnership of Larsen and Turbo and Cube Highways. It took about 80,000 workers and 200 road rollers to achieve this landmark in record time.
Cold Central Plant Recycling technology has been used extensively in this project. This innovative green technology utilises 90 per cent of the milled material, equivalent to approximately 20 lakh square metres of road surface, significantly reducing virgin materials, fuel consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.
This remarkable achievement by NHAI demonstrates their exceptional efficiency, expertise, and commitment to the people, which is a benchmark for others to follow. This accomplishment will significantly improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and facilitate economic growth.
