Minister Gadkari also took to social media to call out what he described as “sensationalised and inaccurate journalism.” He reassured citizens that the exemption on tolls for two-wheelers remains unchanged and added that spreading such rumours without verification only causes unnecessary panic. Currently, two-wheelers are not required to pay tolls on most national and state highways across the country. Contrary to viral reports, there has also been no move to mandate FASTag usage for motorcycles and scooters.
