Earlier, an interesting news emerged from Mangaldai town in Assam where a bunch of car thieves stole a new Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV from a person’s home and promised to return it in 3 days.
However, the owner of the stolen car, Abdul Aziz did the right thing by registering a case at the nearby police station (Janaram Chowk). According to Aziz, some cash from home was also stolen along with the car.
Now, in a recent turn of events, the Assam Police have nabbed one of the thieves who stole the SUV. However, the way the thief was caught by the police is nothing short of a car chase scene from Hollywood movies. Also, the car chase video has now gone viral.
In the video, it can be seen that the Assam Police chasing the stolen Brezza SUV through the narrow roads of Assam. Apart from that, the video also shows the Brezza SUV ramming other vehicles while trying to escape.
However, the hot pursuit (pun not intended) soon ended after the thieves crashed the Brezza SUV. While a few thieves managed to escape, the Assam Police managed to nab one of the thieves and recover the stolen vehicle.
Though the video shows the courage of the Assam Police, it also shows the lack of proper equipment to nab such criminals on time without them creating a bigger mess. While no one was fatally injured while the thieves tried to escape, the possibility of a fatality remains quite high.
In such cases, it is the responsibility of both the state and central government to equip the police with the right type of equipments to minimize damages to both sides.
Also, despite sporting advanced security features, car thefts continue to become a nuisance for car owners across the country and the best thing to do after a theft is to report it to the police immediately. This will give police a better chance to nab these criminals at the earliest.
