Simple Energy has expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the new Simple Ultra. The flagship offering is positioned above the One Gen2 and is aimed at pushing the boundaries in terms of range and performance. Here are the top five highlights of the electric scooter.

Highest range

The biggest talking point of the Simple Ultra is its segment-leading range. It is equipped with a large 6.5kWh battery pack, which delivers a claimed IDC range of 400km on a single charge. While real-world figures are expected to be lower, the scooter should still manage close to 300km, making it one of the most practical long-range electric scooters currently on sale in India.

Performance

The Simple Ultra is also among the quickest electric scooters in the country. Its electric motor enables the scooter to sprint from 0-40kmph in just 2.77 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 115kmph. While these figures aren’t class-leading, it puts the scooter in the performance end of the segment.

Sporty Styling

In terms of design, the Ultra carries forward the familiar silhouette of the Simple One Gen 2. However, it distinguishes itself with a proprietary orange paint scheme complemented by black decals. Although the colour scheme is rather unappealing, the overall styling remains sporty, with sharp cuts and a youthful stance.

Features

Feature-wise, the Simple Ultra mirrors the equipment list of the Simple One Gen 2. It comes loaded with features such as a touchscreen display, LED lighting, four traction modes, connected features, multiple riding modes, and more.

Price and availability

The Simple Ultra is priced at Rs. 2.35 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most expensive offering from the Bengaluru-based manufacturer. It is available for immediate purchase, and deliveries have already commenced across 70 dealerships in the country.
