Suzuki Completes 20 Years of Production in India

Suzuki Motorcycle India has completed 20 years of production operations in the country, marking two decades since it began manufacturing two-wheelers locally in 2006.

The company entered the Indian two-wheeler space with the launch of the Heat 125 and Zeus 125 motorcycles, followed by the introduction of the Access 125 scooter in 2007. The Access went on to boost Suzuki’s scooter sales and remains its prime model.

Besides the Access, Suzuki sells the Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 250 range of bikes, which are due for updates. In the big-bike space, the Hayabusa continues to lead the sales chart for Suzuki.

Recently, Suzuki launched the new Burgman Street with the top spec featuring keyless ignition, a TFT display, and more.

As part of its future plans, Suzuki is working on expanding its manufacturing footprint with a second plant at Kharkhoda.

Suzuki’s Gurugram facility currently supports both domestic demand and exports, with India-made models being shipped to multiple international markets. Suzuki also plans to focus on electric mobility and flex-fuel solutions, as part of its long-term strategy for the Indian market.
