Suzuki E-Access Real-World Range Tested

We recently tested the Suzuki E-Access, the first electric scooter from the Japanese manufacturer in India. The scooter gets a 3.072kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 95km. After riding it in mixed conditions, here’s the range we got from a fully charged battery.

We started the test at 10am, when traffic levels were moderate and traffic signals were operational. This test route is a 10km loop that includes a mix of crowded streets, multiple traffic lights, and some open stretches. The idea was to simulate real-world riding conditions a layman encounters on his daily commute.

During the test, we rode the scooter in Ride A mode, which maximises the regen braking. While riding the scooter, we only used moderate throttle and didn’t try to extract maximum range. Except while riding through the open stretches, did we increase the speed beyond 50kmph, otherwise

The scooter’s performance remained consistent throughout the test until the battery level dropped below 10 per cent. After that, the speed got capped to 55kmph, and further down to 20kmph after the battery dipped below 5 per cent.

Once the battery level dropped below 5 per cent, we rode around our office parking lot until the battery was fully depleted. After this, we were able to get a range of 80.5km, which is just 14.5km lower than Suzuki’s claimed range of 95km. Overall, the real-world tested range is decent, and it can easily handle short city commutes.
