Tata launches ultra diesel variants of Harrier and Safari; check price, features and other details

Auto giant on Tuesday launched the Ultra Red Dark Editions in the diesel versions of its popular SUVs, the Harrier and Safari.

The diesel is priced from Rs 23.84 lakh (ex-showroom), while the diesel Red Dark Edition starts at Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices mentioned are for the diesel manual variants.

Previously, the Ultra trims were available only with the newly introduced turbo-petrol engines.

According to the auto giant, the of Harrier and Safari Ultra feature a 36.9 cm cinematic infotainment system by Harman, powered by Samsung Neo QLED, paired with Dolby Atmos audio. Advanced features include the VisioneX E-IRVM with an integrated dashcam and DVR, VisionSync memory ORVMs with auto reverse dip, and a ClearView dual camera washer for enhanced visibility. The SUVs also come equipped with built-in navigation powered by Mappls Auto.

Recently, Passenger Vehicles Ltd reported a 31.12 per cent increase in total sales at 59,701 units in April 2026 as compared to 45,532 units in the same month last year. Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 59,000 units last month as against 45,199 units in the year-ago period, a growth of 30.5 per cent, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd said in a regulatory filing.

Sales on passenger vehicles in the international market were at 701 units as compared to 333 units in April 2025, a jump of 110.5 per cent, it added. Combined electric vehicle sales in the international and domestic market stood at 9,150 units as compared to 5,318 units in the same month last year, a growth of 72.1 per cent, the company said.
