Tata Motors raises commercial vehicle prices after hiking passenger vehicle rates

will raise prices of its commercial vehicles by up to 2.5% from July 1, the company said on Thursday, days after announcing a price increase of up to 1.5% for its passenger vehicle portfolio, as the automaker seeks to offset rising .

The , which will vary across models and variants, is aimed at partially mitigating higher commodity prices and other input costs, Tata Motors said in a statement. Last week, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles said it would raise prices of its internal combustion engine and electric vehicle range by up to 1.5%, also effective July 1, citing sustained increases in input costs.

The latest move extends the price hikes across Tata Motors’ domestic vehicle portfolio and comes as automakers continue to grapple with elevated , prompting manufacturers to pass on part of the burden to consumers.

Earlier this year, rival automaker said it would raise vehicle prices by ⁠up to Rs 30,000 from June, while Hyundai Motor India increased prices from June 1.
