Tesla opens first Telangana experience centre, brings 2026 Model Y range to Hyderabad

Elon Musk-owned Tesla announced on Wednesday that it has expanded its footprint in India with the opening of a new Experience Centre in Hyderabad, marking the electric vehicle maker’s fifth such facility in the country and its first in Telangana.

Located in Knowledge City at HITEC City, Madhapur, the new centre will showcase Tesla’s 2026 and the , with customers able to explore the vehicles from June 17 onwards.


The move comes as Tesla steps up its presence in India’s fast-growing electric vehicle market by broadening both its retail and service network, less than a year after breaking ground in the country in on July 15, 2025.

Apart from offering product displays and customer consultations, Tesla has also begun delivery and after-sales operations from its facility in the Bollaram Industrial Area.

The company said the new service infrastructure is aimed at supporting customers across Telangana and improving the overall ownership experience.

The newly launched Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive is priced at Rs 50.89 lakh and will be available for deliveries beginning July 2026. The five-seater offers a claimed range of up to 500 km on the WLTP cycle and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. The vehicle comes with up to 2,138 litres of cargo space and power-folding rear seats to maximise storage capacity.

Tesla is also showcasing the Model Y L, a larger all-wheel-drive variant designed with a three-row, six-seat layout. Priced from Rs 61.99 lakh, the SUV offers a claimed driving range of up to 681 km and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 5 seconds.

The company says the model has been designed to cater to larger families seeking additional cabin space and practicality, while offering cargo space of up to 2,539 litres.

Both vehicles are equipped with Tesla’s latest electric powertrain technology and have received top safety ratings from several international safety agencies, including NHTSA and IIHS in the United States, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASI in China.

The company owned by the world’s first trillionaire said bookings for both variants are now open through its official website. Customers placing orders before June 30, 2026, will also be eligible for a complimentary home Wall Connector charger, subject to terms and conditions.
