“They have killed democracy. Within half an hour they finished discussion on 495 pages of the report and took a decision. They did not allow the victim to take a stand for her self-defence.This is unfortunate and unacceptable. It is injustice. Mahua will win the battle next,” Mamata said.
The West Bengal chief minister said that she will fight this politically and expressed confidence that people will give a befitting reply to the BJP.
“Mahua will return to Parliament with a stronger mandate. The BJP believes it can act with impunity due to its overwhelming majority. They should bear in mind that a day may come when they are no longer in power,” Banerjee warned.
TMC MP Mahua Moitra expelled from Lok Sabha after tabling of ethics panel report
The Ethics Committee report found Moitra guilty of “unethical conduct” and contempt of the House by sharing her Lok Sabha credentials — User ID and Password of Lok Sabha Member’s Portal — with unauthorised persons which had an irrepressible impact on national security.
Following a heated debate, during which Moitra was denied the opportunity to speak, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi proposed a motion for Moitra’s expulsion for “unethical conduct,” which was subsequently approved by a voice vote.

‘Mahua victim of circumstances’
Mamata Banerjee backed Mahua Moitra and called her a victim of circumstances. “I strongly condemn the expulsion. The party is totally behind her and our party will fight along with the INDIA bloc parties,” the West Bengal chief minister said.
She extended gratitude to the INDIA bloc leaders for supporting Moitra and said, “I commend the INDIA alliance for standing united and resisting the BJP.”
Mamata Banerjee said the issue has once again opened our eyes about the vindictive politics of the BJP. “It’s unfortunate for the democracy,” she added.
