Triumph Bonneville 400 More Details Out

The upcoming Triumph Bonneville 400 is slated to launch in India before the festive period, most probably in September 2026. Now, ahead of its launch, we have got exclusive details about the bike’s price positioning and engine specs.

Premium Positioning

The Bonnie 400 will be a direct rival to the Royal Enfield Classic 350. However, the bike won’t be priced similarly to the Classic. That’s because the Bonneville 400 will feature premium equipment like a circular TFT display, full-LED lighting, ride-by-wire throttle, and a liquid-cooled engine.

These additional features and hardware will command a premium over modern-classic bikes. In fact, it will be positioned as an upmarket retro street bike, aimed at buyers looking for a premium, performance-oriented modern-retro alternative to the Classic. It is expected to be priced above the Speed 400.

Powerful Thumper

We already know that the India-spec Bonneville 400 will be powered by a 349cc, liquid-cooled motor. Contrary to earlier reports, the baby Bonnie is likely to be powered by the Speed 400’s engine rather than the Speed T4’s unit. The reason for this is that the T4 is an India-only version, while the Bonneville 400 is a global model.

However, the engine could be tuned to suit the laid-back character of the Bonneville. Moreover, the peashooter exhaust should also lend it a more distinct thumping soundtrack, compared to the Speed 400.

Authentic Bonneville Styling

Triumph’s 400 range, though well-designed, has suffered from having less road presence. This is especially true in the case of the Speed 400 and Tracker 400 models. And this is one area that Triumph has tried to fix with the upcoming Bonneville 400.

The Bonnie will feature larger proportions with a bigger fuel tank, chunky mudguards, and rounded side panels. The bike will also get a new subframe, a lazier rake angle, and a longer swingarm, which will thereby increase its wheelbase. All these factors should contribute to its improved road presence.

Besides these details, Triumph is also working on offering a range of custom accessories for the Bonneville 400. These will include functional and aesthetic fitments such as touring and bench-type seats, waxed leather saddlebags, touring fly screen, and more.
