Understanding Kawasaki India K-Care for Ownership Planning

  • Combines extended warranty and annual maintenance
  • Four years of periodic maintenance and one extra warranty year

Kawasaki India’s K-Care is a bundled after-sales programme that combines an Extended Warranty with an Annual Maintenance Contract. By design it is trying to turn ownership costs into a more predictable figure by packaging warranty extension and scheduled maintenance into one upfront payment. Kawasaki says the programme is valid across its authorised service centres in India offering a total of four years of warranty cover and includes four years of periodic maintenance. The package is transferable if the motorcycle is resold.

The plan covers eight preventive maintenance services over four years including eight changes of Kawasaki genuine oil and the use of genuine spare parts. This is important for riders as premium motorcycles demand disciplined servicing and model-specific consumables. Also the owners already know the higher dealer-level labour costs that Kawasaki asks. A bundled service plan can reduce uncertainty around these predictable maintenance events making it a useful tool for owners who keep their motorcycles for several years.

K-Care adds one extra year over the brand’s three-year standard warranty taking total warranty cover to four years with validity up to 50,000km from the date of purchase. This should still cover the most relevant early years of use for most owners. Kawasaki also says this transferability can enhance resale value. This is a fair argument as a used motorcycle with remaining service-plan value and warranty cover can be easier to justify for the next buyer.

The pricing structure depends on the model. At the lower end K-Care for the W175 is priced at Rs. 26,741, while Rs. 43,600 for the Ninja 300, Rs. 46,500 for the Ninja 650, Rs. 70,000 for the Z900 and Rs. 1.15 lakh for the Ninja H2 SX. Kawasaki itself presents the package as cheaper than paying separately for the extended warranty and eight services and the savings chart on the official page shows most listed motorcycles carrying a claimed 15 percent saving, while the W175 shows 10 percent. It is basically about pre-locking known service and warranty expenses before they rise over time.

You should also know that there are limits to the programme. Repairs or replacements outside AMC service are not covered in the package. Accident-related claims or accidental repair work are excluded and that roadside assistance is not part of K-Care, EW or AMC. Awareness is important because buyers may otherwise assume broader support than the package actually provides.

Eligibility rules are also strict. Kawasaki says K-Care, EW, and AMC must be purchased on the same date as the sales invoice or before the first service or within 30 days of the sales invoice date. It also states that old motorcycles and motorcycles already sold in the market are not eligible. It helps Kawasaki lock customers into the authorised service network early, which in turn supports proper maintenance history and parts traceability.
