‘UP offers dynamic business environment’

Lucknow: Dubbing Uttar Pradesh as the growth engine that will drive the country’s progress, Viplav Shah, head of Ashok Leyland’s light commercial vehicle business in the country, on Wednesday announced that the company aims to expand its customer base by providing vehicle service points every 25 km along the highways across the state.
“Uttar Pradesh and northern India have always been a prime market for us. UP presents a dynamic and flourishing business environment with a substantial customer base and a welcoming atmosphere for investments,” said Shah.
The Hinduja Group company is making significant expansions in the state, announced top executives. Currently, the company operates 350 service workshops across the state. In addition, the company has partnered with 22 dealers, furthering its reach and accessibility. With more than 150 retail parts dealers situated across the state, the company is catering to vehicle owners in 75 districts across the length and breadth of the state.
“Currently, we have covered almost 90% of the state with our touchpoint service stations,” said Shah. Out of the total annual sales volume of light commercial vehicles in the state, which hovers around 25,000 units, the company is touching 3,000 units.
