VinFast Eyes India: Vietnamese EV Maker Showcases Electric Cars and Scooters at Mobility Expo Bharat 2025

Categorized by size, VinFast displayed seven new electric cars including VF 3, VF 5, VF 7, VF 8, VF 9, VF e36 and VF 9.Also, the firm unveiled six electric scooters to meet the increasing need for efficient green mobility in Indian cities.

Strategic Expansion Plans

Vietnamese car maker VinFasts entry into the Indian market is strategic to expand the car-maker global footprint. The company plans to establish a domestic assembly plant by 2025 to serve the emerging market and tap into the export market of the neighboring regions given by the strategic location of India.

Market Context

Today the market of electric cars in India has a good increase, most carmakers are planning to introduce at least 10 new electric car models by 2025. The government aiming to sell 30 per cent electric vehicles by 2030 along with enhancing stringency in emission norms is highly favorable for any new entrant such as VinFast.

VinFast’s Global Performance

Globally the company has performed extremely well thus selling 44,773 cars in first nine months of 2024 and a 42% increase in revenue to $411.6 million according to Q3 2024. These expansions especially that of the company in India will only contribute positively to improving the forecasts of the growth of the company.
