  • Gets removable batteries
  • Features the same design as the Yamaha Aerox 155

Yamaha has launched the Aerox E in India at Rs. 2,81,600 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The e-scooter is the brand’s second model in India, after the EC-06. The Aerox E has a similar design to the Aerox 155 but comes with an electric powertrain.

The scooter is powered by a 9.4kW motor, offering a claimed top speed of 95.5kmph. It gets a twin 1.5kWh removable battery setup with a claimed IDC range of 117km.

Yamaha Aerox E Riding

There are three riding modes: Eco, Standard and Power, each modulating the top speed and throttle response. In addition to this, there’s also a power boost, giving a temporary boost in acceleration.

It features a telescopic fork and twin shock-absorbers at the rear. It rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends, with braking duties taken care of by disc brakes at both ends, with single-channel ABS. Features include a TFT console with smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, weather and call/SMS alerts.

At this price point, the scooter is significantly more expensive than its rivals. We recently had a chance to ride it, alongside the EC-06, and here’s what we thought about its real-world performance.
