BMW F 450 GS Launch

The BMW F 450 GS was launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 4.70 lakh for the base variant. It is the new entry point in BMW’s expansive ‘GS’ world as it replaces the G 310 GS in India. The highlight of the bike is the new 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike rides on a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel setup. While the first three variants get alloy wheels, the ‘Trophy’ gets tubeless wire-spoke wheels.

BSA Scrambler 650 Launch

Classic Legends launched the BSA Scrambler 650 in India with prices starting from Rs. 3,24,950. Powering the bike is a 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC, four-valve engine with twin spark plugs. It develops 44.5bhp and 55Nm at 4,000rpm. This is a torque-led big single meant to deliver its best in the low and middle part of the rev range. BSA says this character is suited to urban riding, broken roads and short trail sections better than a peaky engine would. Key dimensions to be noted are its 820mm seat height, 1,465mm wheelbase and 187mm ground clearance.

The KTM 390 Adventure with the new 350cc engine was launched at Rs 2.80 lakh. The 350cc engine-equipped 390 Adventure will be sold alongside the older 399cc iterations. Prices for the latter begin at Rs 3.43 lakh. KTM has introduced the new 350cc engine to take advantage of the lower taxes that bikes under 350cc. A look at the specifications of the 350cc, single-cylinder engine shows that it makes 40.43bhp and 33.5Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the 399cc engine makes 44.2bhp and 39Nm.
