In India, the custom car community is rapidly growing. Slowly, but surely, we are seeing new, interesting and monstrous custom-builds by respected garages and petrolheads. Now, we get to see a specced out Skoda Laura, from Goa.
Details about the custom Skoda Laura built by Unimek Racing Goa and Keith Desouza were revealed by “The Drivers Hub” youtube channel, showing the rapid car, in detail. This car has been modified to be the first all-wheel drive Laura in India, and the fastest, too. Read on to satisfy the petrolhead in you, and find out what this car is capable of!
Looking at the bodywork of the car, we do see some changes including for a fibreglass boot and bonnet, Borla exhaust tips, a custom front bumper, hood pins, 18-inch alloy wheels, 6-piston Brembo brakes with red calipers, and DRLs from the Skoda Octavia.
Coming to the engine bay – here is where the majority of the upgrades lie. The custom Laura from Goa has upgraded stainless steel brake lines, Bilstein B14 track suspension, a forged blow-off valve, a full custom-exhaust system, no catalytic converter and custom downpipes. With all of these advances, the car’s 1.8-litre turbocharged engine produces an astonishing 500bhp.
Also, the Laura has a 3-inch air intake for the air filter, an upgraded intercooler from an Audi RS3, R8 coil packs, a Stage 3 map, forged pistons, forged rods, and a ZF SACHS Performance racing clutch. Just typing this was tiring, imagine the build!
On the inside, we see Sparco Racing bucket seats with a 4-point harness, no rear seats, and an FIA spec roll cage. Built on the concept of a racecar, this Laura is nothing short of it, featuring the best of the best technology and safety. Adding to that, the car has no infotainment system but has controls for the AWD setup and exhaust.
This Skoda Laura is nothing short of an absolute beast. The stock Laura pushes out around 158bhp, whereas this is more than 3 times that amount! What a joy it would be to pilot this racecar!
It is great seeing the Indian automotive community showing interest in unique and state-of-the-art builds. This will not only put us on the map with the car-fanatics all over the world but also inspire fellow enthusiasts into making their dreams come true! This Skoda Laura is built, not bought!
