Honda CB500 Bookings Open in India

The Honda CB500 retro roadster was unveiled recently in India and the bike can now be booked at Honda BigWing dealerships across the country. The Honda CB500 was among the new motorcycle unveils at an event that also showcased the Rebel 300 and XR 300L motorcycles. The bike is set to go on sale soon with others to follow suit over the course of the next few months.

Honda CB500 Engine From Right

This bike, meanwhile, sits above the Honda CB350 range. It is powered by a 501cc, air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 27.76bhp and 43.3Nm. It is paired with a five-speed gearbox and benefits from an assist/slipper clutch.

We’ve not seen a big bore, single-cylinder engine powered bike in this segment since the departure of the Royal Enfield Classic 500. The Honda CB500 is likely to fill that void, although much of that is also going to depend on the way the engine performs and how it feels to ride. That said, the specs indicate a torquey bike and knowing Honda, it should be refined.

What should help the Honda CB500’s case is also the typically strong build-quality of the bike and features such as tubeless wire-spoke wheels and more.

Honda CB500 Front Wheel

The Honda CB500 will find itself in a niche, sitting between the 350cc bikes like the Honda CB350 or Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the BSA Gold Star 650 and the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
