Honda Transalp to get E-Clutch from 2026

  • Honda’s first adventure model with E-Clutch
  • Paired with electronics for seamless shifts

Honda is updating the Transalp for 2026 officially adding Honda E-Clutch to the middleweight adventure machine, alongside adjustable suspension and a new aluminium skid plate. The E-Clutch addition makes this is the first adventure model in the brand’s range to feature this technology. Indian market should get the update in a few months.

E-Clutch allows clutch-free starts and shifts, reduces the chance of stalling and still preserves the direct feel of a traditional manual transmission. This automated clutch control to make riding easier, especially in stop-start riding or low-speed situations without taking away the familiar mechanics of gear shifting. On an adventure bike like the Transalp, riders get help in traffic, on loose surfaces and during slow manoeuvres.

Also note that the Africa Twin’s DCT is a full transmission system that can shift automatically or via paddles, whereas E-Clutch automates clutch operation while retaining a conventional manual gearbox and handlebar clutch lever.

The new E-Clutch works in combination with throttle-by-wire for smooth shifting and stronger low-speed control on both tarmac and in the dirt. 2026 Transalp also gets a new aluminium skid plate for improved underbody protection and fully adjustable front and rear suspension.
