Norton Manx R Details Revealed in the UK

  • Prices start from £20,250 (approximately Rs. 25.97 lakh)
  • Available in four variants with varying cycle parts
  • India launch is expected to take place in the near future

The newly resurrected British brand, Norton Motorcycles, has revealed all the details of its flagship sportbike, the Manx R, in the UK. It will be available in four variants with the on-road prices starting from £20,250 (approximately Rs. 25.97 lakh). The Apex and Signature variants cost Rs. £24,750 and £38,750, respectively, while the price for the top-end First Edition is on application. The latter will be limited to just 150 units, and Norton will provide its customers with a host of accessories to choose from.

The four variants mainly differ in terms of hardware. All of them get Marzocchi USD forks and monoshock with manual adjustability for the base trim, while the rest of the variants get an electronically adjustable setup. There’s a difference in wheels as well – base model gets cast aluminium wheels, Apex incorporates forged aluminium wheels, and the Signature and First Edition get Rotobox Bullet Pro carbon-fibre wheels. What’s common is the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 tyres. These changes also impact the wet weight (without fuel), and it varies from 210kg (base) to 201kg (First Edition).

Norton Manx R Right Side View

The engine is common across all four variants of the Norton Manx R. The motorcycle is powered by a 1,200cc, V4 engine with a 72-degree firing order. Showing more focus on low and mid-range instead of explosive top-end, this engine produces 206bhp at 11,500rpm and 130Nm at 9,000rpm. Helping the riders tame this performance is a common electronics package on all trims. This includes a six-axis IMU with traction control, wheelie control, slide control, and multiple riding modes. All lf this can be controlled and monitored through a large 8-inch TFT screen.

The Norton Manx R will certainly arrive on the Indian shores in the near future. However, it remains to be seen which variants TVS, Norton’s new owner, decides to bring here. We are also looking forward to the pricing, which is expected to be attractive considering the Manx R significantly undercuts most of its rivals in the UK.
