  • Expected with a parallel-twin engine with around 113bhp
  • Only 15 units are likely

Jawa 1000 Sport Cruiser Concept got its full public appearance at the Brno bike show, and is easily one of the most unusual motorcycles to carry the Jawa name. Shifting away from the brand’s usual small and middleweight retro motorcycles, here comes a litre-class cruiser with a reported output of around 113bhp and a kerb weight near 240kg. Now obviously with its limited run of 15 units, it is just a collector’s piece meant to be a tech showcase. Also more attention towards the word ‘reportedly’ because this is what the media buzz is talking about it, nothing from the brand yet.

Apparently, the motorcycle has been developed through Jawa’s collaboration with Chinese brand Jedi. Not a volume model, the 1000 Sport Cruiser is more likely a halo project meant to draw attention to the Czech brand at a time when heritage names across the world are trying to find fresh relevance.

The 1000 Sport Cruiser design lines comes from Jan Hrbek carrying a low-slung stance, flowing body panels and Jawa’s familiar red shade. There is much drama to its form with a long cruiser-like body and sportier hardware placed around it. It has Brembo Stylema brake callipers, Ohlins suspension and LeoVince end can.

The unit shown at Brno has been described as a pre-production prototype. Until Jawa shares an official spec sheet, this motorcycle should be treated as an interesting preview. Even if the 1000 Sport Cruiser reaches production, its reported price would make it unrealistic for the Indian market.
