Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has unveiled the much-awaited ADV 160 maxi-adventure scooter in the country, with its launch expected to follow in the coming months. The ADV 160 stands apart from conventional scooters with its adventure-inspired styling. It features a tall adjustable windscreen, dual LED headlamps, muscular bodywork, handguards, a stepped seat, and generous ground clearance, giving it a rugged stance. It is underpinned by a steel frame and rides on telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by a front disc and rear disc setup with dual-channel ABS. The scooter rolls on a 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheel.

Powering the Honda ADV 160 is a 156.9cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 16.09bhp and 14.9Nm of torque. The motor is E85 compatible and is paired with a CVT gearbox. It also benefits from Honda’s idle start-stop system for improved fuel efficiency. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels.

On the feature front, the ADV 160 gets a TFT display with Honda RoadSync, turn-by-turn navigation, USB charging socket, traction control (Honda Selectable Torque Control), and a 27-litre under-seat storage compartment capable of accommodating a full-face helmet.

With the ADV 160, Honda now has a strong contender in the premium scooter space. While the Yamaha Aerox 155 remains the most performance-oriented option in the segment, the ADV 160 differentiates itself with its adventure-touring design, higher ground clearance, and enhanced practicality.
