GIVI S120 Handlebar Charger for Motorcycles and Scooters

GIVI’s new S120 handlebar-mounted charging socket is designed for motorcycles and scooters. Coming in both USB and USB-C connections, it allows riders to power smartphones, navigation devices and other compatible equipment while travelling. GIVI has not yet announced the product’s price or confirmed its retail availability in India.

Its position on the handlebar is a practical advantage as the charging point sits closer to a phone or navigation mount reducing the length of exposed cable required around the cockpit. The S120 supports both older USB-A cables and newer USB-C connections. Regular USB output supports 5V at 3.4A, 9V at 2A and 12V at 1.5A giving the system a maximum stated output of 18W. The USB-C connection supports 5V at 3A, 9V at 3A and 12V at 2.5A raising the maximum output to 30W.

The USB-C output is good enough for fast charging on many compatible smartphones. It could also be useful for action cameras, communication devices and smaller electronic accessories used during touring. Actual charging speed will still depend on the device, cable and supported charging protocol.

The unit accepts a 12V to 24V input making it suitable for a broad range of motorcycles and scooters. It can be fitted to tubular handlebars measuring between 8mm and 35mm in diameter. GIVI supplies the S120 with a wiring harness and fuse for a direct connection to the motorcycle’s battery.
