R&G Triumph 400 Tail Tidies for a Cleaner Rear Section

  • R&G now lists a dedicated tail tidy for the Triumph 400s
  • India has five 400-badged Triumphs

R&G Triumph 400-series tail tidy range looks increasingly relevant for Indian riders as Triumph’s small-capacity family continues to grow. R&G already offers the LP0376BK tail tidy for the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. The latest addition is a dedicated unit for the Thruxton 400, listed under product code LP0417BK. R&G says no permanent modification to the motorcycle is required, rates installation at two out of five for difficulty and estimates around one hour for fitting.

Triumph Thruxton 400 Tail Light

Production motorcycles generally carry their number plates on long plastic extensions that place the plate, indicators and reflector well behind the rear wheel. There are practical and regulatory reasons for doing this, but the assembly can look ugly spoiling the looks of motorcycles with short seats and compact tails.

That is exactly why the accessory works, and especially on the Thruxton 400 which is more retro sensitive. Tail tidies are designed to replace the large standard licence-plate holder while retaining the mounting points and fittings required for the replacement assembly. These tail tidies can also incorporate a dedicated number-plate light where required.

India already has a large Triumph’s 400-badged family with five motorcycles in the current portfolio. Hence, this broad range also makes a shared aftermarket ecosystem valuable. Parts such as tank protection, radiator guards and luggage hardware can sometimes be developed across closely related models. However, buyers should not assume that every part carrying a Triumph 400 association fits every motorcycle in the family, so check fitment with your aftermarket supplier.
