Upcoming Kawasaki Versys 900 Spotted Testing Abroad

The upcoming Kawasaki Versys 900 was spotted testing abroad. The spy shots reveal the bike put under wraps, but a few key details regarding the powertrain and underpinnings are evident. Here’s everything we’ve been able to gather from the images:

The engine powering the upcoming touring-focused ADV seems to be the 948cc, liquid-cooled, inline four motor. For reference, on the Z900 it produces 123.6bhp and 98.6Nm. The engine is known for its refinement, and the performance makes it more than capable of long-distance touring on the highways.

The spy shots also reveal that it rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, shod with road-biased tyres. The dual-disc setup seems similar to what we have seen on the Versys 1100, and could likely be a 310mm dual-disc setup at the front and a 260mm single-disc at the rear.

Speaking of the Versys 1100, it is a bit outdated with the simple semi-digital console. With the Versys 900, Kawasaki could be planning on bringing more features. Starting with the same TFT console as the Z900. It could also get riding aids such as a quickshifter, a traction control system, and most importantly, a cruise control system.

Judging by the images, the bike looks production-ready and could be launched by the end of 2026 or early 2027. But so far Kawasaki has not given any details regarding a launch timeline.
