Sena Launches PRISM 2 to Make Group Ride Videos Much Easier

  • Records Sena mesh intercom conversations alongside 4K video
  • Includes two batteries, magnetic mounts and a dual battery charger

Sena PRISM 2 has been introduced in Euro market as a new 4K action camera developed specifically around motorcycle use. The headline feature is the camera’s ability to capture conversations taking place over Sena’s Mesh Intercom system alongside the footage being recorded. That could be considerably more useful for riders who regularly film group rides. Sena has presence in India, so it’ll be arriving soon.

Conversations between riders can be captured together with the video, while stereo audio forms part of the recording. This will make footage from a group ride feel more natural because the finished video can include what riders were actually saying to each other all along. It should be especially useful for motorcycle content creators. Synchronising separately recorded voices with action-camera footage can add another stage to editing.

The company previously explained that riders using compatible Insta360 cameras could record their own Sena intercom audio directly through Bluetooth. However, recording conversations involving multiple riders over Mesh required a Sena MeshPort Red hub in addition to a Mesh-equipped intercom. The PRISM 2 therefore appears to simplify a problem Sena has already been working on.

PRISM 2 package contains two magnetic quick-release mounts, a handlebar mount, an extension pivot arm and both long and short adhesive mounts. A thumb screw is also supplied providing several ways to position the camera around a motorcycle or riding setup. Sena supplies two rechargeable batteries and a dual battery charger in the standard package.
