ZXMoto 500RR Inline-Four Sportbike Launched Internationally

The fairly new Chinese brand ZXMoto has been in the news for quite some time now, mainly for its new inline-four sportbike, the 500RR. The motorcycle has already been launched in Thailand for 199,900 baht (approximately Rs. 5.85 lakh), while it is also set to reach dealerships in the UK next month. ZXMoto was established in 2024, and it made its biggest public appearance last year at the EICMA show in Milan in November.

The main highlight of the ZXMoto 500RR has to be its engine. Powering the bike is a 470cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve inline-four motor with a 12.9:1 compression ratio and Bosch electronic fuel injection. It produces 84bhp at 13,500rpm and 46Nm of torque at 11,500rpm. ZXMoto claims the 500RR can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of over 235kmph.

Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox, wet multi-plate slipper clutch and chain final drive. A ram-air intake system is used to improve performance at higher speeds. The 500RR gets a six-axis IMU that enables cornering ABS and traction control. Riders can choose from four riding modes – Sport, Street, Beginner and Custom – with information displayed on a TFT-LCD instrument cluster.

The motorcycle gets fancy cycle parts such as a single-sided swingarm and a steering damper is offered as standard. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm upside-down front forks with preload and rebound adjustment, along with an adjustable rear monoshock. Braking hardware includes twin 300mm front discs with four-piston Taisko callipers and a single rear disc. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard.
