Ampere Magnus G Max at Rs. 1.10 Lakh also gets Smarter Tech Now

  • 30-plus connected functions powered by the new NxG.io platform
  • Adds cruise control, hill hold and turn-by-turn navigation

Ampere Magnus G Max has received a significant technology update in India and is priced at Rs. 1,09,999. The scooter now runs Ampere’s new NxG.io software platform adding more than 30 connected features to a product that has been built around simple everyday mobility. Most notable additions are cruise control, hill hold assist and turn-by-turn navigation. These are joined by Find My Scooter, Ping My Scooter and a wider set of connected functions accessible through the Ampere Connect application.

Riders can view real-time charging information, vehicle location, charging history and battery health through the Ampere Connect app. Geo-fencing, theft alerts and tow notifications are included as well. Remote diagnostics and service booking have also been integrated into the system. This could be more useful over the long term than some of the headline features because connected diagnostics can potentially identify a problem before the owner reaches a service centre.

Over-the-air update capability is another addition giving Ampere scope to revise or improve software. The actual value will depend on how often meaningful improvements are delivered, but having the hardware and software architecture to support OTA updates gives the Magnus G Max room to evolve after purchase.

Underneath the new software, Magnus G Max uses a 3kWh LFP battery paired with a motor producing 2.4kW of peak output. It has an IDC-certified riding range of 142km, while the company claims a real-world figure of more than 100km.
