Bajaj Pulsar 400 Teased Ahead Of May 3 Launch: Watch Teaser

The internet has been buzzing with the rumours and renders of the Bajaj Pulsar 400 for years. The anticipation build-up for the motorcycle has been out of control even when it wasn’t formally announced. However, Bajaj Auto has officially confirmed that the Pulsar family of motorcycles will be getting a new member. Furthermore, this will be the biggest-ever motorcycle to bear the overly popular name in the Indian market. Scheduled to launch on May 3, the bike will bring a bigger capacity engine and consequently more power.

Based on the latest teaser released by the brand, the motorcycle will continue to have the characteristics of its genes. It will be designed to be an adequate option for city dwellers. Although, the bike seems to be bigger now to accommodate the bigger capacity engine. This is hinted at by the rear tire of the motorcycle shown in the teaser which seems to be thicker compared to the out-going bikes.

Chances are, the bigger capacity engine of the bike will be borrowed from the Bajaj Dominar 400 on sale in the Indian market. This is a 373 cc single-cylinder engine that is tuned to give out 39.4 bhp of power and 35 Nm of peak torque. It is to be noted that KTM uses the same power unit on the 390 Adventure and RC 390. However, the power output figures are different. On a KTM it gives out 43 bhp of power and 37 Nm of peak torque.

The new and bigger Bajaj Pulsar 400 is also expected to borrow hardware from its smaller siblings. Chances are, it will get USD front forks and a rear mono-shock, something similar to what we saw on the recently unveiled N250. Additionally, it might also get a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity enabling multiple features like call notification, turn-by-turn navigation, and more.
