About Audi Q3

The next-gen Q3 was last showcased at the Paris Motor Show in 2018 and was expected to be launched in India during the first quarter of 2020. Owing to the pandemic conditions, the launch was pushed further and now we expect the SUV from Audi’s stable to be introduced for the Indian market in the coming months.

The new Audi Q3 will be based on the VW’s MQB platform, which makes it 96mm longer, 18mm wider, and 5mm lower than the first-gen model. The wheelbase has also grown by 77mm. Visually, the entry-level SUV from Audi looks beefy and more muscular than before. It boasts of sharper shoulder lines and creases than the previous model which is now discontinued in the country. The exterior highlights of the include a new larger octagonal-shaped front grille with vertical chrome slats, Matrix LED headlamps with adaptive beam system and LED DRLs, five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels with size ranging from 17 to 20-inch, and a rear spoiler and tail lamps derived from the elder sibling, .

Thanks to the new platform, the new Q3’s cabin is roomier and features a new dashboard design with a modern touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster with virtual cockpit, repositioned aircon vents, and control knobs. On the safety front, it is anticipated to pack in driver assistance tech like lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and a park assist.

Internationally, the next-generation Audi Q3 will be offered with four powertrain options. The 1.5-litre 35 TFSI engine produces 150bhp and 250Nm of torque while the 2.0-litre 40 TFSI engine is tuned to produce 190bhp and 340Nm of torque. The 45 TFSI and the 35 TDI motors develop 230bhp with 350Nm and 150bhp with 340Nm of torque, respectively. It remains to be seen as to which engine and transmission configuration is preferred by the brand for the Indian-spec model. We reckon the new Audi Q3 to be launched in early 2021

xt-generation Audi Q3 could range from Rs 33 lakh to Rs 44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will lock horns with segment rivals like the Mercedes-Benz and the when it launches in the first quarter of 2018.
