About BMW i4

Summary

German carmaker introduced the all-electric in India on 26 May, 2022. The electric sedan is available in three metallic exterior colours — Black Sapphire, Sky Skyscraper Grey, and Mineral White across a single trim, the eDrive40.

Exterior

The exterior design of the i4 is reminiscent of its combustion-engine counterpart, the 4 Series Gran Coupe. However, the electric sedan comes with a closed-off kidney grille, air curtains, LED headlamps, LED taillamps, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

The interior of the i4 is available in dual-tone options — Canberra Beige with black and Cognac with black. Additionally, the seats wear Sensatec synthetic leather. Besides this, BMW offers a 12.3-inch driver display, a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 17-speaker Harman Kardon surround system, reversing and parking assistants, a glass roof, and a wireless phone charging pad.

Electric powertrain

BMW has equipped the i4 with an 83.9kWh battery pack delivering 335bhp and 430Nm of torque. It provides a WLTP-certified travel range of 493-590km on a full charge. The sedan supports up to 205kW rapid charging — 10 to 80 per cent in a claimed 31 minutes, while a 50kW charger can charge it in 83 minutes. When plugged into an 11kW charger, it takes about 8.25 hours to recharge.
