Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel: What is New?

The recently launched Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel variant has undergone many changes to make it compliant with E85 fuel. Here’s a look at everything that differentiates the Flex Fuel variant from the standard model.

Gets New Colours

The first change is the addition of a new colour scheme featuring a black finish, complemented by a lime yellow and blue graphic. The fuel tank retains the ‘Hero’ graphic on the upper section, similar to the standard model.

A ‘Flex Fuel’ graphic on the lower section distinguishes it from the standard model.

Is More Powerful & E85 Compliant

The Splendor Plus Flex Fuel variant is powered by the same 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 8.4bhp and 8.3Nm. Compared to the standard model, this represents an increase of 1.3bhp and 0.25Nm.

Engine From Right

To handle E85 fuel, a combination of 85 per cent ethanol and 15 per cent petrol, it gets a new fuel pump, a new secondary air filter, and a calibrated ECU map.

Gets A New Console

The bike also gets a twin-pod semi-digital instrument console, with an analogue speedometer in one pod and a digital inset in the other for fuel level readouts.

Instrument Cluster

This semi-digital console gives the motorcycle a more contemporary appearance than the analogue unit offered on the standard variant.

Is More Expensive

The Flex Fuel variant is priced at Rs. 82,810 (ex-showroom), making it around Rs. 5,000 more expensive than the standard. For the kind of changes that the bike has undergone, the premium is reasonable.
